Major residential applicationVolume house builder Durkan Homes along with Stewarts Foundation have lodged an application for a major residential scheme at a 10-acre site at Balgaddy, north Clondalkin, Co Dublin.
The site is bound by Stewarts hospital to the south and west. The first phase involves a gross floor area of 26,197 sq m (281,982 sq ft) with 268 apartments over a 130-car basement car park in five buildings from three to four storeys in height.There will also be 1,324 sq m (14,251 sq ft) of retail and 471 sq m (5,070 sq ft) of childcare facilities, and 272 surface car spaces. A 1.9-acre portion of the site falls into a designated tax relief area.
Objections lodged to GAA hotel
Opposition to the GAA's plans for a four star hotel on Jones Road, Dublin 3 is mounting with a number of appeals to its planning permission. Appellants include Gregg Martin Crash Repairs, Clonliffe and District Residents Association and Croke Park Residents. The proposal is for a 232-bed multi-storey hotel on the 3.2-acre site with an elevated pedestrian bridge connecting it to Croke Park. The hotel would also have a dining area and basement parking for 180 cars.
Portobello Harbour improvements
Dublin City Council has notified its intention to carry out improvement works at Portobello Harbour, Dublin 8. These will involve hard landscaping adjacent to the Grand Canal, seating, new trees, a water feature, bicycle parking, and enhanced public lighting. Plans open for inspection at the Planning Dept, Block 4 Ground Floor, Civic offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8 till September 26th.
Ballybrack village improvements
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Co council is giving notice of village improvements at Ballybrack, Church Road. Plans can be inspected up to October 1st from 10 p.m. to 4 p.m., County Hall, Marine Road and Council Offices, Dundrum Office Park.
