Dublin 15: A mixture of 15 three-bedroom houses and eight one-bedroom apartments at the Royal Canal Park development in Dublin 15 is being launched off plans through Hooke & MacDonald this week with prices starting at €215,000.
Royal Canal Park, which will eventually consist of 1,400 homes, is designed to provide a complete social, economic and cultural environment for its inhabitants. Over 500 homes have already been sold at the development which will include a town centre, retail and leisure facilities. The one-bedroom apartments in this phase are 46-56 sq m (500-600 sq ft) and cost from €215,000. All these units have a good-sized open-plan kitchen and reception room, a store room and some have doors leading to a balcony.
Three-bedroom houses are typically 90 sq m (970 sq ft) and will cost from €345,000. Each three-bedroom house comes with its own private garden. Completion dates are expected from next year. Royal Canal Park offers easy access to the city centre via either the Navan Road and Phoenix Park or by taking the Ratoath Road on through Phibsborough.
A new railway station is to be built as part of the development, making Connolly station and the IFSC just two stops away, while an existing station at Ashtown offers a journey time of around 15 minutes to the city centre.
The Royal Canal runs along the south side of the site and the river Tolka along another. Dublin's most underused resource, the Phoenix Park, is a 12-minute walk away.
The town centre is under way and will include a pedestrianised area, town square and community facilities.
Apartments and townhouses at Royal Canal Park are available from the plans at the offices of agent Hooke & MacDonaldon weekdays from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
