Greystones: from €259,950 Sixty homes in a large Greystones scheme with fine views are on the market, writes Anne Dempsey
Four new apartment types go on show this weekend at the launch of The Fairways, a new phase of the Charlesland development in Greystones, Co Wicklow.
As its name suggests, the complex overlooks Charlesland golf course with 122 homes also enjoying views of the Wicklow Mountains.
Sixty units are on sale; comprising one, two and three-bedroom apartments and two penthouse styles. Situated in a new residential area of Greystones, The Fairways is across the road from Charlesland shopping centre, with a community and sports centre in the pipeline. The heart of Greystones is less than five minutes away, and the Dart is located at The Fairways end of town.
The project has been developed jointly by Sean Dunne's Mountbrook Homes and Ballymore Properties with selling agents Hamilton Osborne King. Apartments range from €259,950 for a one-bedroom to €650,000 for a large two-bedroom penthouse home with a splendid lofty living space. While the smaller apartments will suit first-timers, larger homes should appeal to mature buyers wanting style, space and security in a well-established town with excellent amenities. Quality appointments throughout include an Italian kitchen and stylish bathrooms, concealed lighting, large windows and balconies. The grounds are good-sized, with a front landscaped car-parking area and rear lawn.
There are 39 two-bedroom apartments with 74-77sq m (797-829sq ft) of space, priced from €319,950. The living area has a modern living flame glass fire behind a glass screen, and doors opening to a balcony. Both the main bathroom and the en suite shower room are attractively tiled, with mirrored storage cupboards and ladder towel rail as standard, and a free standing ceramic basin set into a limestone shelf.
The one-bedroom showhouse apartments of 50-53sq m (535-566sq ft) are decorated in shades of cream, grey and citrus yellow. There are eight more available, priced from €259,950. Kitchens come fully fitted with a ceramic hob, stainless steel integrated fridge-freezer, extractor fan and dishwasher. The food larder has pull-out sections which maximise access. Tiled flooring, polished granite worktops and limestone splashback are standard, as is the integrated washing machine and tumble dryer in a hall storage unit.
There are nine larger 96sq m (1,033sq ft) apartments with three bedrooms priced from €429,950. The main bedroom is en suite and all bedrooms have built-in wardrobes.
The smaller of the two-bedroom penthouses, of which there are six, still has ample accommodation with a balcony that traverses the whole giving a variety of views. On 76sq m (823sq ft), each costs €399,000. Finally, at €650,000, the two largest penthouses have 107sq m (1,157sq ft) of accommodation with pride of place going to a very large L-shaped living/diningroom, boasting a lofty beamed ceiling and large windows giving wraparound panoramic views.
