Shop FrontThe first reaction of most people who see these carpets from Belgium is to run their fingers through the oversized loops of wool that spring from the matted base.

It's this textural appeal - they're all 100 per cent wool - that sees the carpets used most often in minimal interiors to add a bit of warmth and comfort to the old "less is more" routine.

They come not as fitted carpets but large rugs which can be ordered from as small as 4ftby6ft(€800). It makes sense that the line is called Pebble because squint your eyes and the loops in grey, white, blue and brown, look like small stones.

The market for this kind of thing is limited but it's certainly one of the more unusual flooring ideas to pass our way in a while.
