Co Laois: Large homes beside a Seve Ballesteros-designed championship 7,345-yard golf course are being launched this week by Hamilton Osborne King with prices starting at €555,000.
The Heritage Golf and Country Club near the village of Killenard, Co Laois, is due to open on October 12th. It is the only Seve Ballesteros-designed course in Ireland and also has a clubhouse, leisure centre, indoor spa, outdoor bowling greens and a golf school bearing the name of the golfing great.
Situated around the course is a development of 87 spacious quality homes with six house types to choose from. Some of the homes have large balconies with views over the course. A large detached four-bed house - of which there are seven still available - is a double-fronted residence of 232 sq m (2,497 sq ft) on the market for €555,000.
There are two other four-bed house types available but these homes are bigger and contain a few extras. One, for example, measures 273 sq m (2,939 sq ft), has a sauna, a large balcony with views of the course, and three of the four bedrooms are en suites. There is also a "spare" room downstairs that could be used as a fifth bedroom. Prices are not yet available for these house types, but the 16 units available in these styles are due for completion next summer.
Each house has oil-fired central heating, quality fitted kitchens, wardrobes and fireplaces. Prices include one membership to the golf club.
Killenard village is just off the N7 Dublin-Cork road, between Monasterevin, Portarlington and Portlaoise.
A three-bedroom showhouse is open to view by appointment through Hamilton Osborne King on 01 6181300.
