Shop FrontSmart architects and interior designers have been mixing wood, stone and tiles in floors for ages, but so far there has been no "off the peg" version. Enter Wasp flooring, a system which uses oak and beech woods with light and dark stones to almost any design you fancy.
Well, any geometric design that is: swirls just aren't possible.
Kitchens and bathrooms are where they're used most and, although this idea of stone tiles framed with wood is hardly new, these floors still work very well so long as you stay away from tricky patterns. Too many panels and, visually, the room ends up pulled downwards and looks smaller than it is.
