Living in motion: design and architecture for flexible dwelling is an exhibition opening next week at IMMA, but it isn't as austere as its name suggests.
It features everything from modular furniture by Eileen Gray and South American hammocks to plastic containers and futuristic "living pods". Mies van der Rohe, Philipe Starck and Frank Lloyd Wright are some of the names you might recognise. The point is to show how contemporary designers are adapting living environments to today's lifestyle. Flexible living is what everyone wants today.
