Killiney: A drop in price is likely to reactivate interest in Ard Einin, a large detached Edwardian house at Marino Avenue East in Killiney, Co Dublin, that was withdrawn from auction earlier this year.
Lisney is now seeking €2.85 million for the five-bedroom house, a drop of €350,000 from the original asking price of €3.2 million.
Ard Einin is an attractive five-bedroom house set on almost an acre of beautifully-kept gardens at Marino Avenue East, off Military Road.
The 350 sq m (3,770 sq ft) house has a impressive entrance hallway with a striking period fireplace, a staircase winding up to a gallery landing on the first floor and a Gothic-style skylight overhead.
Leading off the hallway is a formal diningroom, a superb double drawingroom and an original conservatory in which a scene for the movie Michael Collins was filmed. There is also a large country-style kitchen complete with Aga, a family room, study and large store room with a loft overhead.
The upper floor has the same circular arrangement, with rooms leading off the gallery landing.
A cluster of three children's bedrooms and a bathroom on one side of the house is balanced by a guest bedroom and the very large main bedroom suite on the sea side.
All the bedrooms overlook the gardens.
There are lawns on three sides, a meandering herbaceous border and a wooded area above the house where there is access to Marino Avenue West.
