Two weird and wonderful wines to try from Aldi

This week some weird and wonderful grape varieties to try out, both from Aldi. Assyrtiko is a very highly regarded indigenous Greek variety. The most famous wines come from the volcanic island of Santorini, but it is grown elsewhere too. The Aldi version comes from Macedonia in the northwest of the country on the Greek mainland. The French rosé is made from no less than seven different varieties, two of them white. For the wine geeks among you, it is made up of 30% Carignan, 15% Cinsault, 15% Grenache, 10% Merlot, 10% Caladoc, 10% Vermentino and 10% Viognier.
