An Oscar winner for his Slumdog Millionairescreenplay, Simon Beaufoy has reworked the script for Leap Year, Anand Tucker's romantic comedy that is set to shoot in Ireland next month.

Amy Adams, an Oscar nominee for Junebugin 2006 and for Doubtthis year, stars as an uptight young woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on February 29th. When weather derails her plans, she enlists a cynical Irish innkeeper to join her on a cross-country trek. He's played by Matthew Goode, who played Charles Ryder in Brideshead Revisitedand is cast as Ozymandias in Watchmen, opening next Friday.
