Am I the first to comment that Connor Cruise, the adopted son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, is, a slight misspelling aside, two thirds of the way to being a distinguished Irish politician, writer and newspaper editor? Almost certainly not.
Anyway, it seems that Connor is about to be propelled into the family business. The young fellow will play one of the defending guerrillas in an upcoming remake of John Milius’s notoriously illiberal 1984 thriller
Red Dawn
. The original film followed the efforts of teen patriots to repel an invasion by Soviet forces. Dan Bradley’s remake will, it seems, deal with a combined assault by Russian and Chinese invaders.
