IRISH folk duo The Lost Brothers will release the album they recorded with Brendan Benson next month. The Passing of the Night was produced by Benson at Nashville’s analogue-only Welcome to 1979 studios last year, and will be released on his own Readymade Records in the US on September 25th, with a UK and Europe release also planned.
The duo, who hail from Omagh and Navan, caught the ear of Benson when they supported him at several dates on his Irish tour in 2010. They are one of only three acts signed to his label and will tour in the US later this year. The album was recorded live onto tape over the course of a week, and features members of Old Crow Medicine Show, The Cardinals and Richmond Fontaine.
“Brendan approached the songs from an angle we loved,” said Oisin Leech. “[He’s] a very skilful studio engineer so we were able to work fast and there was no hanging around.” thelostbrothersband.com
