What has Amy Winehouse started? It's been less than four years since Back to Blackwas released, but the singer's urban soul stylings have already spawned enough imitators to bankroll the fake beehive industry for the next decade. Roxanne Tataei isn't quite just another Winehouse copycat, but the young Londoner's debut lacks the unique angle that could set her apart from the crowd. That doesn't mean Rox can't sing, or that there aren't some likeably catchy songs here. I Don't Believeis probably the best of them, its sassy, finger-snapping soul swing impossible to resist, while Page Unfoldsis somewhat reminiscent of Lauryn Hill in places. Yet all too often, Memoirsflags with one-dimensional ballads and (as heard on Rocksteady) a predictable cod-Caribbean lilt that nods to Rox's Jamaican heritage. Largely unmemoirable.
