Fans of live music, Vespas, vintage cars and bouncy castles should mark Sunday, May 23rd, in their diaries

Fans of live music, Vespas, vintage cars and bouncy castles should mark Sunday, May 23rd, in their diaries. A family fundraising event incorporating all of the above (and more) is taking place at St Joseph’s Centre for the Visually Impaired in Drumcondra, Dublin.

Bands lined up to play The Rockin’ Road Festival from noon to 7pm include Smiths tribute These Charming Men, The Modfathers, Oona and the Devils, Aces Wild, Liz is Evil and Special Brew. There will also be a vintage cars, bikes and scooters display, as well as kids-only karaoke and plenty of DJ sets to keep folk entertained.

Organised by David Bagnall of the Vespa Club of Ireland (with assistance from Oona Fortune), the event is to raise much-needed funs for St Joseph’s, which teaches visually impaired students to be self-sufficient in mobility, technology and everyday life skills.

Admission is €5 per adult, or €10 per family. For more, see tinyurl.com/rockinroad2010
