The top price at last month's fine-art sale conducted by Malahide auctioneer, Denis Drum was £2,200, made by a Victorian Dend Honduras mahogany dining-room table with two leaves. A heavily carved Victorian mahogany chiffonier sideboard fetched £1,400.

A late-Victorian cabinet bookcase went for £850 and both an oak long-case clock and a rosewood breakfront mirror-backed sideboard were sold for £700. Among the pictures, an oil called The Glen, Powerscourt by Fergus O'Ryan fetched £1,000.
