Killarney event offers furniture and jewellery

Killarney is the venue for an antiques and collectables fair tomorrow, starting at 11 a.m. The event, which is to held in the Great Southern Hotel, is expected to offer visitors more than 50 stands and a wide variety of items, ranging from 18th and 19thcentury furniture to coins and stamps. Up to six stands will be specialising in early 19thcentury and later jewellery.

Early edition of Joyce classic in Dublin fair

The regular antiques and books fair in Dublin's Newman House takes place tomorrow from 11 a.m. Included in the book and print section, is a first London edition of Joyce's Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, together with a selection of Dublin views by Bartlett, Hall and Flora Mitchell, among others. Victorian watercolours, Georgian and Victorian silver, toys, stamps and military medals will also be on offer at the fair.

Birr antiques event opens next Tuesday

The annual antiques and fine art fair which is held in Birr, Co Offaly, as part of the town's Vintage Week, begins next Tuesday, when it will be opened at 2.30 p.m. by Harry Crosbie. This year's venue is the County Arms Hotel, where according to organiser Ena Hoctor, "a large number of leading dealers will be exhibiting".
