- Branded to a pulp:Jarvis Cocker has been signed up to provide songs for the forthcoming film Get Him to the Greek.Russell Brand plays fictional rock star Aldous Snow in the film, and will sing three songs penned by Cocker's fair hand.
- Scandinavian control freaks:Danish noise-rock duo The Raveonettes have announced details of their new album. In and Out of Controlis their fourth LP, and will be released at the beginning of October.
- Williams comeback looms:Robbie Williams is set to make a comeback in October with his new single Bodies. It will be the first single from Reality Killed the Video Star, the singer's first album since 2006.
- Big names for MTV's VMAs:The names of several acts set to perform at this year's MTV Video Music Awards have been announced. Rihanna, Pink, Lil Wayne, Kid Rock and Paramore will appear at the Los Angeles event on September 7th.
