A man, aged in his 20s, arrested in connection with an alleged assault of another man outside a public house in west Dublin late on Sunday night has been charged.
The victim suffered a blow to the head outside the Clonsilla Inn just before 11pm.
The man (40s) sustained life-threatening injuries in what gardaí believe was a so-called one-punch attack. Though he is receiving emergency treatment in hospital in the city, there are grave concerns for his recovery prospects.
Gardaí investigating the attack have appealed for witnesses to the “serious assault”.
