The board of Navan Resources is to grant its chief executive, Mr Brian Calver, 600,000 share options.
Mr Calver is entitled to exercise the options at 0.60p a share and now holds a total of 1.2 million share options.
The was some criticism at the company's recent annual general meeting about the level of share options being granted to directors.
The company is currently awaiting the results of a bulk sample at the copper-lead-zinc mine at Aguas Tenidas in Spain.
