Provisional liquidators have been appointed by the High Court to the WYG Group of companies in Ireland. Barrister Kelley Smith told Mr Justice Gerard Hogan yesterday that the parent – WYG Ireland Holding Company Ltd – had funded the companies to the tune of €70 million over recent years.
The parent company was the main creditor to WYG Engineering Ireland, WYG Environmental and Planning Ireland and WYG Nolan Ryan Tweeds, all registered in Ireland.
The companies sought the appointment of Paul McCann and Stephen Tennant of Grant Thornton as joint provisional liquidators.
Ms Smith told Mr Justice Hogan there were companies in the North that were not affected by her application.
