Celista to sell its Swords facilities:
Two production and office buildings on large sites near Swords in north Dublin are being offered for sale by the Canadian technology company Celestica following the closure of its Irish operation. The company had a staff of 1,000 at the height of the technology bubble and 250 when the closure was announced last May.
Joint agents NAI Mason Owen & Lyons and Colliers Jackson Stops are handling the sale of both properties which are located just north of Swords, off Ballheary Road and close to the M1.
The main property is a 10-year-old plant of 19,230 sq m (206,990 sq ft) and a period office building of 464 sq m (4,994 sq ft) on 9.2 hectares (22.7 acres) off Balheary Road. A price of over €12 million is expected for the complex which includes surface parking for 550 cars.
The second facility, a modern production and office building of 4,942 sq m (53,195 sq ft) on 5.24 acres is likely to make over €3.5 million. Both properties go to tender on December 10th.
Shankill apartment scheme for €900,000:
Douglas Newman Good's new homes division is quoting a guide price of €900,000 for eight apartments and a duplex unit in Shankill.
Aubreyville, a site of just one-quarter of an acre, is located in the middle of the village close to a range of shops. It is also within walking distance of the Shankill DART station. The planning permission provides for seven two-bedroom apartments, one three-bedroom apartment and a single two-bed duplex unit. The development will also include three integral garages.
The Perfume Shop opens at ILAC centre:
The UK operation of The Perfume Shop has opened its first Irish store at the ILAC centre in Dublin 1. The company, which has 94 outlets in Britain and Northern Ireland, will be paying a rent of €111,419 for its Dublin store which has a floor area of almost 80 sq m (861 sq ft).
Bernadine Hogan of agents Hamilton Osborne King, which represents the company, says the new operation should not be mistaken with other perfumeries of the same name currently in Ireland. The new operation would be selling designer perfumes at reasonable prices. "The Perfume Shop is on a roll-out scheme in Ireland and we are looking forward to finding more units for them in this country."
€220,000 key money for Henry Street shop:
Douglas Newman Good Commercial is seeking key money of €220,000 for the former Zerep shoe shop at 31a Henry Street, Dublin 1. It is located at the junction with O'Connell Street. Zerep has moved next door to the old Sasha store. The premises on the market has a retail area of 51.56 sq m (555 sq ft) at ground and basement level and three overhead floors for stores. The rent was recently reviewed to €82,000 per annum.
Limerick warehouse with site potential
The ESB is seeking over €6 million for a high quality distribution warehouse of 3,864 sq m (41,592 sq ft) opposite the Eastway Business Park in Ballysimon in Limerick.
DTZ Sherry FitzGerald is handling the sale of the building which stands on a site of 6.83 hectares. It has 120 metres of frontage on to the Ballysimon Road and is located 1.5 km from the intersection of the N24 and the Annacotty-Adare bypass which is due to be completed next summer.
John Buckley of the selling agents says there is development potential on the site for car showrooms and retail warehousing.
Joining forces to share research and resources:
The Irish Property & Facilities Management Association has signed a partnership agreement with its UK counterpart organisation, the British Institute of Facilities Management. Although continuing to operate as separate bodies, they are joining forces on a number of fronts including research, educational programmes and information and knowledge resources.
Bank of Scotland relocates in Limerick:
Bank of Scotland is relocating its Limerick operation from Charlotte Quay to Henry Street to facilitate the further growth of its business. The bank is to occupy a six-storey, 1,114 sq m (12,000 sq ft) block which has been developed on the site of the old Carlton Cinema.
