Baltimore, the Irish technology company that was once valued at £7.5 billion (€10.8 billion), is attempting to offload the lease of its former headquarters at Parkgate Business Centre in Dublin 8.

Last month the company sold its Irish-based public key infrastructure division for £5 million. The business developed internet security software and was Baltimore's core operation.

Normally the company could expect to receive a premium for its lease, particularly as the building has been fitted out to a high standard - it has air conditioning, furniture, work stations, phone system and even a gymnasium - but with the office market in the city already oversupplied, agent CB Richard Ellis Gunne will be hard pressed to find a suitable covenant.

The 2,421 sq m (26,059 sq ft) block was built in 2000 and has the use of 21 car-parking spaces. The current rent is €590,516 and the 25-year lease includes a break option in 2015.
