FAIR dues (or fare dues) to South-West Trains for its considerate approach to passenger Janet Duck who missed her connection to Dundee because of a train breakdown.
The company paid £884 for a taxi journey round trip from Waterloo Station to Dundee. The journey took nine hours and the taxi driver even bought her breakfast on the way.
Janet said his face was probably "sore from grinning". She said she would have been happy to stay in a hotel and fly home next day.
"I was amazed when the train company took that option."
