The Irish Bankers' Federation (IBF) and the Irish Mortgage and Savings Association have embarked on a banking information programme for the general public, as well as specific target audiences. The programme is designed to help people become comfortable with new ways to do banking.

Adult education groups, older people and the disabled will be separately catered for as part of the programme. A national coordinator has been recruited to help in the implementation of the campaign. The IBF accepts that the relatively low level of debit and credit card use could be attributable to a lack of information.
