British Airways has revived its alliance plans with giant US carrier American Airlines by seeking permission to jointly market flights to 75 destinations.
The new move is a "watered-down" version of the full-blown transatlantic route link-up between the two airlines which had run into anti-competition problems. Aer Lingus is negotiating to link in to the BA/AA alliance.
The joint-marketing scheme, known as code-sharing, would see some BA flights being flown under the AA designator code and vice-versa.
