ADVERTISING increased by 9 per cent to £141 million in the first six months of this year, according to Advertising Statistics Ireland. National press accounted for 49 per cent of total spending on advertising, with television taking 30 per cent, radio 9 per cent, and outdoor and consumer press 6 per cent each.
Of the £12 million increase in the first six months of the year, national press received 58 per cent while television and outdoor each received 18 per cent.
